Who is this training for?
This course is ideal for workplaces including activities such as light engineering, warehousing, construction, dangerous machinery, etc.
Aim
The aim of this FAW course is to train selected people in the skills and knowledge required to carry out the duties of a workplace First Aider.
Objectives
On successful completion of this training, candidates will have satisfactorily demonstrated competence in all subject areas listed in Emergency First Aid at Work, and will also to be able to:
- Administer first aid to a casualty with:
- Injuries to bones, muscles, soft tissue and joints, including suspected spinal injuries
- Chest injuries
- Burns and scalds
- Eye injuries
- Sudden poisoning
- Anaphylactic shock
- Recognise the presence of major illness (including heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes) and provide appropriate first aid
On successful completion of this course, candidates receive a certificate that is valid for three years. This is a recognised qualification that can form part of your employee’s CPD and gives the individual the confidence to deal with an emergency situation.
